Ephesus Ancient City

Our tour begins with the Ephesus Ancient City. This ancient city is an ideal start for a journey into the depths of history. While wandering among important structures such as the magnificence of the Celsus Library, the magnificent structure of the Great Theater, the Temple of Hadrian and the Marble Street, we will follow the traces of the Roman and Hellenistic periods step by step. While witnessing the past of Ephesus, you will discover how the city developed as a great cultural center.

The House of the Virgin Mary was discovered by Lazarist priests in 1891 and was accepted as a center of pilgrimage for Christians after Pope Paul VI's visit in 1967. Those who want to leave a vow on the Wishing Wall of the church, which is considered sacred to Muslims, leave their votive papers and drink water from the Holy Fountain, then we go to the Ancient City of Ephesus, which was built entirely of marble and was a metropolis at one time. In Ephesus, accompanied by our guide, we see the Temple of Hadrian, the Temple of Domitian, the Temple of Serapis, the Church of the Virgin Mary, the Upper Agora and Basilica, the Odeon, the City Hall, the Bath and the public toilet, the Celsus Library, which is both a tomb monument and a library, and the unique ancient ruins that have survived to the present day, as well as the ancient theater.

The old Greek village Sirince, mentioned by Greek writer Dido Sotiriou in her work "Say hello to Anatolia from me". We walk among historical houses and streets with authentic architecture. Later, we will witness the historical texture of the island by visiting the Taksiyarhis Church (Rahmi Koç Museum), which has been restored and turned into a museum. We will discover Greek houses and feel the unique atmosphere of the island during our walk through the narrow streets. In addition, you can walk on the beach in your free time and find the opportunity to taste the flavors of the Aegean in the restaurants by the sea.

Our 2nd Stop: Ayvalık Center. After leaving Cunda Island, we head to Ayvalık center. Here, we will take a walk through the streets lined with historical Greek houses and get to know Ayvalık's unique architecture and cultural richness up close. While our guide shares the story of local flavors such as Ayvalık toast and olive oil, you will also have the opportunity to shop for these products. Our 1st Stop: Klazomenai Olive Oil Workshop. We start our trip with Klazomenai, the oldest known olive oil workshop in Anatolia. In this historical settlement, which was a pioneer in the olive oil production of the ancient world, we will get to know the olive oil culture of the Aegean more closely.

Our 2nd Stop: Urla Pier. After Klazomenai, we turn our route to Urla Pier. We will take a short walk along the peaceful coastline of the Aegean, breathe in the sea air and feel the historical texture of the pier.

Our 3rd Stop: Urla Quarantine Island (Tahaffuzhane). We are entering Urla Quarantine Island, one of the most curious spots in the Aegean, as a group with special permission. We will explore this important stop in health history by visiting the historical Tahaffuzhane region located on the island.
